Andy Halvorsen profile picture


Andy Halvorsen (Ph.D. Education, MA TESOL) has been involved in the fields of language teaching and teacher education for 20 years. He is currently a Senior Instructor with the American English Institute at the University of Oregon. Andy teaches both online and face-to-face courses in Innovative Programming at the American English Institute and in the Language Teaching Studies (LTS) Program. Andy's research interests relate to the effective use of educational technology for language training and the efficacy of fully-online and blended instructional models for teacher training. During his years of experience in the field, Andy has lived and worked in Thailand, China, Japan, and Albania, and he has done teacher training workshops and presentations in close to 20 countries. He is also currently an English Language Specialist with the US State Department and an incoming commissioner with the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) where he conducts extensive program evaluation work.
