Welcome to our homepage!

The Language Teaching Specialization (LTS) Masters of Arts in the Department of Linguistics is a 15-month intensive graduate degree program that provides a strong theoretical and practical professional foundation for future leaders in language teaching.

Our Department has a longstanding relationship with the American English Institute (AEI), one of the largest institutes of English language instruction in the U.S., and collaborates closely with other UO language departments and institutes.

LTS graduate students can focus on one or more languages in the program. Alumni include English language teachers as well as teachers of other world and indigenous languages such as Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, several Native American languages of the Northwest, and others.

Please explore our website for information about our program, our faculty and students, the admissions process, and frequently asked questions.
